Unlike the previous "Pentax 645" which was mainly designed around button operations this model is characterized by its design created by incorporating dial and lever combinations. This model is equipped with features such as the TTL dual-6-segment metering method which combines wide sensors and narrow sensors, auto-bracketing (an automatic step exposure compensation mechanism), and a date imprinting mechanism for imprinting data to the film outside the picture frame.
